Healthy Start
Ohio's free health insurance plan for children up to age 19 and pregnant women. This plan covers doctor visits, hospital care, immunizations, substance abuse, prescriptions, vision, dental, and mental health through accepted providers. You must meet income eligibility requirements but your car, money in the bank, and your life insurance policies cannot make you ineligible. No interview is required at Department of Human Services. SAFE KIDS Coalition
Stark County Health Department is the lead agency for this organization made up of representatives from all health departments, hospitals, safety agencies, and others. SAFE KIDS is dedicated to reducing unintentional injuries in children ages 0 -14, which is the leading cause of death and disability for this group..Programs are conducted throughout the year in the areas of child passenger safety, fire prevention and bicycle safety. Foreign Travel
Information on immunizations required for travel to a foreign country can be obtained from the Canton City Health Department at (330) 489-3322. You may also receive required immunizations there. An appointment is necessary and a fee for service is charged.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings
Free breast and cervical cancer screenings are available to women in Stark County, through the Pink Ribbon Project. Local providers offer breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams and pap tests. For more information call 1-800-381-2489.
